EW were Victor Mitchell - Sam ('2♣') Stayman and NS were Dorothy Hayden - B.J. (Boris Joris?) Becker (B.J. was often written as B. Jay; we could not dig up any more information about his first names -Ed. Bridgevaria.com). Both were very renowned pairs. NS have 27 points between them and although there is no heart guard, 3NT is the only makable game. But how to get there? |
